Papa Weenies

Papa Weenies is horror fast food simulator where you play as an employee who must hunt food monsters in the backrooms, cook them, and serve them to customers before they get upset. Survive as many days as possible.

About

Papa Weenies as a concept has been in development for 3 years. It started as a prototype that I shared a clip of to the internet in 2023, which was well received by fans. (over 7 million views!)

 

Papa Weenies is a fast food simulator that blends analog horror and restaurant management.

The game play loops consists of:

  1. Opening the store to welcome in customers

  2. Take the customer’s order at the front counter. The customer chooses a random food on the menu depending on what day you’re on. For example: on day one a customer may order just a chicken nugget. On day five they may ask for a hotdog with ketchup, fries, and a soda.

  3. The player needs to go into the backrooms connected to the kitchen. This is a dark lit area that has seemingly endless corridors that are overrun with fast food monsters. This is where the player will use their employee starting rifle to hunt specific monsters ordered by the customer. Avoid their attacks because once your health reaches 0, not only do you have to restart the day, but you’re also faced with a nasty jumpscare from whatever killed you. Customers who have waited too long for their food will also become an enemy you will have to deal with.

  4. Food is then prepared in the kitchen before being served on a tray and given to the customer. This can include cooking the food on a grill, adding dressing and toppings, or filling up an empty soda monster cup with a fresh fountain drink.

  5. Finally the player places the food in a tray and serves it to the customer

The current build only has 2 food enemies, however the next steps in development are to add more food enemies from the menu, including:

  • Hamburger monster. After defeating you can cook it to be anywhere from raw to well done and add toppings in the kitchen at the customers request.

  • Soda creature. Will explode when killed, emptying its liquid, which can then be filled with a drink of choice at a soda fountain.

There will be several backroom levels available. The default main backrooms level is connected to the kitchen and resembles a dining hall. There will be an unlockable play place level, that resembles an indoor playground with an eerie atmosphere. The last level I plan to include is an endless bathroom that has pools and unique enemies.

This project is also fully developed on MacOs but with still be shipped for both Mac and Windows. If the game performs well on PC I would love to make a mobile version for iOS later down the road.
